ABSTRACT
The article highlights the First BEAT study on inoperable colorectal cancer patients in Great Britain. The study shows that after treatment with bevacizumab (Avastin), more than one in ten patients with inoperable colorectal cancer have been able to undergo surgery to remove cancer that metastasized to their liver. Meanwhile, a second registry study shows that continuing bevacizumab beyond disease progression significantly increased overall survival.
