ABSTRACT
The article focuses on a report by the Conference Board on the decline in Consumer Confidence Index (CCI) in June 2008 in Nevada. It notes that the index declined to a preliminary estimate of 50.4 down 1.4 points from May 2008. The decline in the CCI was due to substantial declines in both the Present Situation Index and Future Expectations Index. Several factors that contributed to the declining consumer confidence levels include the elevated housing inventory levels and the falling home prices.
