ABSTRACT
The article reports on the increase in players of the 39th World Series of Poker's main event in Las Vegas, Nevada in 2008. The event has a 7 percent increase in players with 6,844 entrants. The total prize for the event is $64.3 million, compared to $59.8 million in 2007. The first part of the event will run until July 14, when the final table of nine players will be determined.
