The article discusses key issues concerning advertising spending levels among motion picture studios in the United States. Key issues discussed include the increase in advertising spending for 1999, the comparison of advertising spending for movies with those of other marketers and the reasons why the "Advertising Age" magazine excluded movie studios from its ranking of the top 100 media spenders.
