ABSTRACT
The article discusses the techniques and equipment with several top Nashville, Tennessee engineers from sound recording industry including Gary Pacsoza, Bil VornDick, and Steve Chandler. On mandolin, Paczosa stated that he liked to use Neumann KM54s that he angle in from the top and bottom. While, Chandler stated that he used U87s or 47 on the fiddle and reliable and great when-in-doubt microphones. Moreover, VornDick stated that he stereo-mike banjos, and nothing can beat a KM84.
