ABSTRACT
The article discusses a woman patient with stage IV lung adenocarcinoma that was admitted to a hospital for blood transfusion and chemotherapy. The woman was diagnosed with mediastinal hematoma due to a Port-a-Cath complication and was arranged for a CT scan of the chest. It discusses a differential diagnosis that suggests aortic dissection, however, due to absence of signs such as decreased peripheral pulse, and aortic regurgitation, the diagnosis was ruled out. Other evidence that did not support this diagnosis include absence of alveolar, and interstitial infiltration.
