ABSTRACT
The article focuses on imported Chinese jewelry in the U.S. According to the author, during the 1970's there were two major waves of jewelry imports to the U.S. and other Western world countries. Those imports comprised the largest influxes of foreign jewelry of the 20th century. The article discusses the various pieces, their sources, and the way the Western world changed its attitude towards adornment.
