ABSTRACT
The article discusses a report from the Robotic Industries Association (RIA) that reveals that robotics companies in North America reported new orders sold to North American manufacturers dropped 17% in the initial quarter of 2008 from the same quarter the previous year, but revenue escalated 5%. The report also reveals that orders to nonautomotive companies have increased. RIA figures reveal that a total of 3,828 robots valued at $288.1 million were sold in the opening quarter of 2008.
