ABSTRACT
The article reports on the fierce competition in securing the art and design collection of fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent, who died in June 2008 at age 71. The design collection is considered the largest single owner sale in auction history given its outstanding contents. According to "The Art Newspaper," Sotheby's and Christie's are pitching to Saint Laurent's longtime companion and main heir, Pierre Bergé.
