It states that the government's official death toll standing at 84,537 dead and 53,836 missing caused by cyclone Nargis in June 2008, in which it forecasts that the death toll will increase due to the slow relief effort by the government. Moreover, it mentions that the long-term political risk rating has decreased to 31.3 as the aggravated economic hardship of the population lays a growing threat to political stability.
