ABSTRACT
The article reports that Southwest Airlines stays afloat and continues to take advantage of its flights from Las Vegas, Nevada despite the economic downturn. It is indicated that the airline bought much of its fuel in advance for $51 per barrel, enough fuel to supply the airline until after 2012. It is also reported that about 30,000 more hotel rooms and 6.4 million new visitors will be needed by Las Vegas to maintain occupancy rates.
