ABSTRACT
The article highlights the issues on biofuel and food that were discussed at the United Nations (UN) summit in Rome, Italy. European academic and commentator Olivier De Schutter said that there must be a code of conduct that should have the requirement that soil, which is suitable to cultivation of food, should not be diverted to grow fuel beyond the current figures. Some facts on palm oil, which is claimed as one of the most controversial biofuels crops and the world's most prolific, are also provided.
