ABSTRACT
The article reports that Enel has threatened to freeze major investments in Slovakia's power industry if the government pursues plans to increase the powers of energy regulator URSO. The economics ministry announced proposals to strengthen the oversight of power auctions by URSO after criticism of the high prices in Slovakia's most recent auction by dominant supplier Slovenske Elektrarne (SE), and consumer protests about price hikes.
