ABSTRACT
The article presents an update on financial developments in chemical industries in India as of June 2008. Germany-based BASF SE plans to raise its stake in its Indian subsidiary by up to 75%. RPG group company Phillips Carbon Black Ltd. has increased its investment commitment in its Vietnam joint venture to 300 crore Rupees following an increase of 1 lakh tonnes in plant capacity. Fuel retailer Hindustan Petroleum Corp. has posted a 30% drop in profit for the fourth quarter ended March 2008.
