ABSTRACT
The article discusses the results of a retrospective study regarding the use of Recombinant Factor VIIa (rFVIIa) in patients who had undergone left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation. It notes that the study demonstrated that rFVIIa controls bleeding and using it in a low dose is effective. The study was conducted among 62 patients wherein 32 patients received low dose of rFVIIa and 30 patients received higher dose resulted to 25% thromboembolic events, 6.7% from the lower-dose group and 43% in the higher-dose group.
