The article reports that an 11 tonne, 11 metre-long steel Archimedes screw was hoisted into place in the River Goyt where it runs through the Derbyshire village of New Mills in England. Later this year the German-manufactured screw should be helping generate 260,000 kilowatt hours of green energy every year in what is claimed to be Great Britain's first community-owned hydro power scheme, known as the Torrs Hydro New Mills project.
