ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the cost of assessing the environmental impact for companies through carbon footprinting, the process of quantifying the emission of greenhouse gases (GHG). It notes that to date carbon offset pricing is relatively low but development of a regulated market may significantly raise the price. Moreover, it discusses the types of inputs for calculation of climate impact and suggests proper estimation for offset compliance cost relative to claim of carbon neutrality.
