Stephen Phillips, managing director of Autonomous Surface Vehicles in Great Britain says that USV can be used in dangerous operations like mine hunting or in area with a risk of pirate or terrorist attack. Unmanned vehicles can also be used as escorts of a carrier battle group, Phillips added.
