ABSTRACT
The author discusses the application of robotics technology in the development of unmanned surface vehicle (USV) for naval warfare. The author mentions the history of the development of USV. Stephen Phillips, managing director of Autonomous Surface Vehicles in Great Britain says that USV can be used in dangerous operations like mine hunting or in area with a risk of pirate or terrorist attack. Unmanned vehicles can also be used as escorts of a carrier battle group, Phillips added.
