ABSTRACT
The article offers a look at some of the weapons systems that can be fitted to utility helicopters to improve its lethality and self-defense. The re-engineered M134D 7.62mm Gatling gun has been adopted by the U.S. Army The U.S. Navy designated the Gatling gun Gau-17/A as a pintle-mounted door gun for the Bell UH-1N helicopter. Rocket projectiles like the General Dynamics Hydra-70 and the Magellan/Bristol Aerospace CRV7 are used in U.S. military helicopters, according to the author.
