ABSTRACT
As an applied discipline, we cannot do without the full involvement of affected communities if we are to design programs that are effective, efficient, and meaningful. Our partners, fueled by passion, are often frustrated and bewildered by our highly structured planning process. This article describes a novel approach to demonstrating core program planning components using the film Oceans Eleven. The activity explains and illustrates planning steps to improve participation by fostering an understanding of the planning process.
