The article describes the work of fabric designer Sue Peschel Gundy. She uses her digital camera to capture images from her environment that become sources of design. Gundy has worked extensively with commercial art, particularly in the development of patterned designs for menswear such as ties. She has used her digital camera to capture these patterns from nature and architecture. Gundy takes the digital images and uses her computer to extract interesting elements from the pictures, which are then used to create repeating patterns. In addition to work for menswear, Gundy also creates fabrics for quilting. The article also mentions her desire for people to pay more attention to textile design, noting the patterns in the textiles encountered in everyday life.
