The article reports on the U.S. Government Accountability Office's (GAO) privacy responsibilities for senior agency privacy officials. They include conducting privacy impact assessments, complying with the Privacy Act, reviewing and evaluating the privacy implications of agency policies and producing reports on the status of privacy protections.
