ABSTRACT
This article focuses on how the Institute of Logistics and Transport will celebrate its first anniversary in June 2000. It plans to get a series of changes under way to take members forward into the 21st century. Much will be changing over the coming months to build on traditional strengths but improve the institute's utility to its membership. Change will come in July, when the institute's ne office in London, England opens for business. The new office will offer members modern meeting rooms, as well as a reading room for reference and study purposes. At the same time, the reorganization of the institute's permanent staff will begin to take effect in earnest with the consolidation of many activities in office in Corby, England. Meanwhile, much work is going on to bring into being new approaches to education and professional development, membership services, marketing and communication.
