The article profiles the artist D. R. Wagner and his work. It discusses his textile art and fine needle work and examines his work as an author. The connections between visual and verbal language are explored and the autobiographical influences seen in Wagner's work are discussed. The piece "My Sister Deborah Dreaming by the Horseshoe Falls" is described, as is the triptych piece "The Fulfillment of Prophecy." The installation "El Deseo," which was completed for the exhibition "The New Narrative: Contemporary Fiber Art," is also examined.
