ABSTRACT
The article reports on the acceptance of Robert B. Willumstad, chairman of American International Group Inc. (AIG), on the duties of chief executive officer in the U.S. It notes that Willumstad vowed to reveal a strong strategy for the troubled carrier after Labor Day and noting that he will reach out to AIG's former leader Maurice Greenberg. Willumstad stated that the company needs to take a hard look at some of its operations that heavily exposed it to real estate market sufferings.
