In several situations of modem society and particularly in the case of risk decisions a more complex concept of time is required, that takes into account the difference of present future and future presents and the fact that we always have to do with an unpredictable future that (as we know) will depend on the present behaviour however. We don't know what will happen in the future, but we know that it will be a result from what we (and others) do now. The article proposes a modalized concept of time, starting from the double distinction actual/non-actual and past/future, which combines indeterminacy and operability and is produced by the operations of systems that cannot control them. The dynamics of financial markets demonstrates the functioning of this recursive and reflexive time.
