The article reports on the new introductory price of Apple's Phone smart phones featuring new enhancements. Enhancements include openness to third-party applications. It will now have an AT&T-subsidized starting price of $199. This will impact the sales and prices of other brand-smart phones which is also not good for consumer electronics retailers excluded from the iPhone's distribution channels. The iPhones with starting prices of $199 and $299 will also affect retailers' sales of the iPod Touch as the new iPhones also incorporate the same touchscreen interface and costs close to $300.
