ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the housing development in the U.S. According to the National Association of Home Builders, there is a slight increase in renovation projects in the first quarter of 2008. A survey shows that historic neighborhoods tend to be more central. It was found that homes in historic districts tend to hold and gain value at a greater rate than the rest of the market. Historic homes are also marked to weather the storm of housing bust with relative ease.
