The article discusses the release of a website called "vifanord" which was launched on May 6, 2008 and offers a virtual specialized library for Scandinavia, Finland and the Baltic region. The website seeks to expand cultural research capabilities and is developed by the University Library in Greifswald, Germany, the University Library in Kiel and the University Library In Göttingen. The initiative is sponsored by the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft (DFG; German Research Community).
