ABSTRACT
The article reports on the closure of the Empire Ballroom nightclub in Las Vegas, Nevada on the eve of Memorial Day weekend in May 2008. It is said that the club had mounting debt and unpaid rent totaling more than $400,000, according to consultant Gino Lapintos. He adds that the rent was $70,000 a month and they got a 24-hour notice.
