Country Report
The article offers a risk summary for politics, economics and business in Vietnam in 2008. The government announced the construction of two nuclear plants with a joint capacity of 4,000 megawatt (MW) by 2020. The city of Da Nang has become the focus of investment development as property investors seek opportunities beyond metropolitan centers Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City. Many Vietnamese companies lack in adequate corporate governance despite the government's long running "equitisation" process.
