ABSTRACT
The article reports on the financial statement of consumer goods manufacturer Unilever for the first-quarter of 2008. The company announced that its first-quarter profits spiked 31% to $2.1 billion, and said it expects its full-year underlying sales growth to exceed its initial 3 to 5% projection. The company reported flat sales at $14.34 billion. Unilever's operating margin is 5.3% higher than the prior-year period at 19%.
