ABSTRACT
The article presents the vision of University of Louisville School of Nursing by Dean Marcia Hern. During an on-campus welcome reception organized in her honor as new dean, she states that the university declined 75 highly eligible applicants if not for faculty shortage. She appealed to hospital leaders to assist in designing solutions to the challenge by providing loaned faculty or producing a new type of joint teaching prospect.
