ABSTRACT
The article reports on Uruguay's various types of libraries, its national library and parliamentary library, and its university libraries. Uruguay's career training for librarians is reviewed, and its librarians' association and congresses are discussed. A national financial crisis is said to have curtailed acquisitions and library budgets.
