ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the use of on-demand computing within the securities industry that will be discussed at the Securities Industry and Financial Markets Association (Sifma) Technology Conference in June 2008. According to the article, renting compute power from outside providers helps firms upgrade their power without buying new servers. It is inferred that to bring down costs and drive up efficiency are the primary reasons to use an outside provider.
