ABSTRACT
The article provides a political outlook for Poland through 2009. Analysts believe that a further set back in negotiations between Poland and the U.S. over the latter's proposed construction of a missile base suggests that time may be running out to get a deal approved. They also maintain that potential hostility from Russia may elevate bilateral tensions between the two countries. Some of the reasons for the failure of the project are cited.
