ABSTRACT
The article reports on the advantages of using an extended-warranty program as a new solution to the problem of manufacturer warranties in the boiler industry in the U.S. According to the author, this program can differentiate the manufacturer�s product, influence equipment dealers, and give customers more confidence in their purchases. In addition, extended warranties can help provide an edge to boiler manufacturers especially at a time of increased global competition and rising costs.
