ABSTRACT
The article reports on the increase of shipment of hard disk drive (HDD) in 2007 worldwide. iSuppli Corp. expresses that the shipment grew by 18.9 percent, and surpassed the half-billion-unit shipment threshold for the first time. Revenue rose from $31.2 billion in 2006 to $32.8 billion for the year. It is expressed that the industry was not affected by NAND-type flash memory, MP3 players and note computers. Furthermore, top-ranking manufacturers include Seagate Technology LLC, Western Digital Corp. and Hitachi Global Storage Technologies.
