ABSTRACT
The article reports on the study of ABI Research Inc. which assesses the performance of the global mobile device market in the first quarter of 2008. The survey reveals that shipment volumes in developed markets have declined due to the credit crisis, while emerging markets delivered high growth rate. It indicates that Nokia, Samsung Electronics Co. Ltd. and LG Electronics have increased their market-share stakes. Research director Kevin Burden expresses that shipment volumes would continue to grow despite economic uncertainty.
