The article discusses the service provider BibTip, which is a website that offers recommendations and suggestions for adding books to library inventories. This service is offered by the university library in Karlsruhe, Germany for other libraries throughout the country. An overview of web-based recommendation systems is presented and the algorithmic process used to calculate book tips for users is described.
