ABSTRACT
The article offers news briefs related to cable television (TV) in the U.S. Several independent cable networks formed their own trade group which asked the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for reforms to curb program-tying practices. DirecTV Inc. is fighting a proposed regulation from FCC on the duplicative carriage of digital TV stations' signals in high-definition and standard-definition formats. Starz Entertainment and Lionsgate confirmed that Dennis Hopper will star in "Crash."
