ABSTRACT
The article reports on the emergence of gray as major background color for upholstery in the furniture industry in High Point, North Carolina. In an interview with fabric industry professionals, red and coral emerge as accents while purple and grape are considered suited with in home decor. Mix of brown with blue are softened to mixtures of taupe or beige with blue.
