ABSTRACT
The article focuses on the various applications of Software Defined Radio (SDR). SDR was first used by the military intelligence receivers during 1980 and early 1990. As its main purpose, software defined receiver uses an analog-to-digital converter (ADC) to digitize the analog signal in the receiver as close to the antenna as possible. In the case of simplest application, SDR hardware can be used as signal capturing device.
