ABSTRACT
The article reports on the acquisition of Conexant System's Broadband Media Processing (BMP) business by NXP Semiconductors. It states that the BMP business unit supplies chips for various cable, IPTV and satellite TV products. Furthermore, NXP Semiconductors intends to pair the BMP unit with its set-top box (STB) and digital TV operations to create a top-three player in digital video systems.
