ABSTRACT
The article announces that Novell has been working with Microsoft Corp. to develop advanced Linux management solutions that will enable customers to simplify the management of mixed information technology (IT) environments. Under their existing collaboration agreement, both companies will work with industry standards and open source components to standardize management capabilities. The aim of their joint effort is to maximize the value of a customer's IT infrastructure investment. According to Brad Anderson, general manager of the Management and Services Division at Microsoft, the company will extend its System Center suite to offer management for Linux distributions such as SUSE Linux Enterprise.
