ABSTRACT
The article deals with a qualification specifically for female managers imposed at Young's Seafood and the Seafood Co. The qualification was launched in 2008 by Improve, the sector skills council for the food and drink industry, after research found that only 23 percent of managers in the sector were women. According to Ellen Cockburn, human resources (HR) director for Foodvest, some participants had been promoted or moved to other parts of the business to broaden their experience, while others would go on to take further qualifications as a result.
