ABSTRACT
The article reports on pay package for chief executives in the U.S. In 2007, they overall took a 15% pay cut, as the return on the Standard & Poor's 500 Index fell nearly two-thirds to 5.5%. Average salaries came in at $1.1 million and total pay at $12.8 million. Marriott International Inc. CEO J. Willard Marriott, ranks among the most overpaid bosses of the past six years. Sprint Corp. paid Gary Forsee $6.5 million just to leave BellSouth Corp. and bought him a house in Atlanta, Georgia.
