ABSTRACT
This article provides historical information related to the financial services industry in the U.S. from June 1652 to June 1977. First was the establishment of the first mint in America by John Hull. In 1893, New York stock market tumbles, causing years of deep depression. This was followed by the creation of the Securities and Exchange Commission by President Franklin Roosevelt in 1934 and the sale of the first personal computer Apple II in 1977.
