ABSTRACT
The article reports that the Welsh Assembly has responded to farmers' concerns about the exclusion of common land from forage areas that trigger entitlements to single farm payments. Farming unions were inundated with calls from worried members who believed the move would reduce the total level of support they would receive. After urgent talks in Cardiff, the assembly issued a bulletin providing guidance to farmers on avoiding errors when completing their new single application forms before the May 15, 2008 deadline.
