The article features Kang Young-Joong, founder of tutorial company Daekyo based in South Korea. He retired in 2001 but returned in January 2007 when the business declined. In 2007 sales rose 2% to $905 million and operating margins improved 23% but net profits fell 9% to $50 million and its market share held steady.
